Welcome

Your Partner for Printed Electronics
The cluster PEC4 for printed electronics was founded in 2009 by 4 research centers located in the Barcelona area to strengthen the development of Printed Electronics.
Printed electronics is based on the combination of a new class of materials and cost effective printing processes that opens new applications.
The PEC4 cluster aims especially to develop printed sensors for packaging and biomedical applications, and embedded solutions in RFID and WSN domains. The main drivers are the development of body area networks and ambient intelligence.

Printed Electronics is a disruptive  technology which will have impact on the next generation information technology, energy, healthcare, microelectronics, entertainment, packaging, advertising and other fields. The combination of polymer material with new production processes will enable thin, lightwight, flexible and low-cost electronics. Exponential growth is expected and within 10 years the market volume is expected to be bigger than 50 billion US Dollars (Soource: IDTechEx 2009).
